Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes 0.15% higher at 9,347.56 points

Lisbon, Oct. 8, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index up 0.15% to 9,347.56 points, bucking the downward trend across the rest of Europe.

Of the 16 listed companies, seven rose and nine recorded declines.

Galp led the gains, rising 3.51% to €22.69 per share.

Other standouts included Jerónimo Martins, which rose 2.43% to €17.27 per share, followed by Semapa, which advanced 1.80% to €19.24, Sonae, which gained 1.46% to €2.09, REN, which rose 0.71% to €3.54 per share, Navigator, which advanced 0.52% to €3.08, and Corticeira Amorim, which rose 0.15% to €6.72 per share.

Among the companies that declined were BCP, which fell by 2.41% to €1.13 per share, followed by EDP Renováveis, which lost 1.85% to €12.17; Mota-Engil, which fell by 1.63% to €4.59; CTT, which lost 1.38% to €5.72; Altri, which fell by 1.16% to €4.26; Ibersol, which lost 0.90% to €9.86; Teixeira Duarte, which lost 0.67% to €0.45; and EDP, which fell by 0.23% to €4.78.

Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt fell 1.18%, Madrid 0.99%, Paris 0.51% and London 0.16%.
