Lisbon, Sept. 16, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed up 1% on Wednesday, outperforming the major European markets, at 9,540.66 points, with most listed companies in the green, driven by Sonae, NOS and EDP.
Of the 16 companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 11 rose, four fell and Ibersol remained unchanged at €10.20.
Sonae was the top performer, rising 2.21% to €2.09, followed by NOS, which rose 2.17% to €5.41. EDP rounded off the top three, rising 2.15% to €4.75.
EDP Renewables also rose by more than 1%, gaining 1.95% to €12.52.
Also in positive territory were CTT (up 0.95% to €6.36), REN (up 0.86% to €3.52), Jerónimo Martins (up 0.56% to €17.89), BCP (up 0.55% to €1.19), Mota-Engil (up 0.53% to €4.92), Semapa (up 0.49% to €20.7) and Teixeira Duarte (up 0.10% to €0.48).
Conversely, leading the fallers was Corticeira Amorim, which fell by 0.71% to €7.01, followed by Altri, which fell by 0.53% to €4.69, Galp, which fell by 0.41%, to €21.88, and Navigator, which lost 0.19% to €3.23.
The main European stock markets closed higher today, with London up 0.28%, Paris 0.62%, Frankfurt 0.53%, Madrid 0.41% and Milan 0.80%.
