Los Angeles, California, Sept. 16, 2026 (Lusa) - Portuguese singers Carminho and Dino D'Santiago have been nominated for the Latin Grammys in the Best Portuguese-Language Song category, it was announced on Wednesday.
According to the list of nominees for the 27th Latin Grammys, the Portuguese group Karetus are also nominated in the Best Music Video – Short Form category for the song «Moleirinha», directed by Gonçalo Pereira, featuring Conan Osíris, Júlio Pereira and Isabel Silvestre with Vozes de Manhouce.
Comprising Carlos Silva and André Reis, Karetus released the album «Modas» this year, which includes the track «Moleirinha».
Carminho has two Latin Grammy nominations: one in her own right for the album «Eu Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir» and another for a duet with the Spanish singer Rosalía.
The song «Memória», inspired by a traditional fado and performed in Portuguese and Spanish as a duet with Rosalía for the Catalan artist's album «Lux», is among the nominees for Best Song in the Portuguese Language.
Caminho is nominated for Best Roots Music Album in the Portuguese Language for her latest album, «Eu Vou Morrer de Amor ou Resistir», released in late 2025.
The fado singer was previously nominated in this same category at the Latin Grammys in 2023 for her album «Portuguesa».
Dino D'Santiago also has two nominations this year, for a project that brought him together with the Brazilians Criolo and Amaro Freitas.
The track «No vento de nós» is nominated for Best Song in the Portuguese Language, whilst the debut album from this Portuguese-Brazilian project, entitled «Criolo, Amaro & Dino», is in the running for the Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Popular Music/Brazilian Afro-Portuguese Music Album.
The song «Esperança», released in 2024, was the catalyst for this collaboration between Portugal and Brazil. Thanks to this track, co-written with Criolo, Amaro Freitas and the Brazilian producer Nave, Dino D'Santiago was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2024.
Rosalía is among the most nominated artists this year for the Latin Grammys, with seven nominations, all for her album «Lux», which she performed live last April in Lisbon.
The ceremony for the 27th edition of the Latin Grammys is scheduled for 12 November in Las Vegas, recognising «a wide variety of performers» in 60 categories.
The organisation will present awards for musical excellence to various performers, including the Brazilian Daniela Mercury, in recognition of her creative contribution to music and to Latin communities.
