Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes marginally higher bucking Europe trend

Lisbon, Dec. 12, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed slightly higher on Friday, up 0.09% to 8,001.36 points, bucking the trend in the rest of Europe and boosted by the rise in value of the EDP group.

Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 10 rose, five fell and REN remained unchanged at €3.22.

The listed company that rose the most was EDP Renováveis, which advanced 2.71% to €11.77, followed by Corticeira Amorim, which rose 2.16% to €6.61, and EDP, with an increase of 1.35% to €3.76.

NOS also grew by more than 1%, rising 1.20% to €3.80.

Also above the waterline were Navigator (+0.73% to €3.04), Sonae (+0.25% to €1.62), Altri (+0.23% to €4.30), Semapa (+0.23% to €17.24), Ibersol (+0.20% to €9.88) and Jerónimo Martins (+0.05% to €19.77).

Leading the declines was Galp, which continues to accumulate losses after announcing an asset swap agreement with TotalEnergies in Namibia, falling today another 3.16% to €13.96.

Also falling were Mota-Engil (-2.11% to €4.74), BCP (-1.34% to €0.85), CTT (-0.95% to €7.30) and Teixeira Duarte (-0.93% to €0.64).

The main European markets closed lower today, with London down 0.56%, Paris 0.21%, Frankfurt 0.44%, Madrid 0.17% and Milan 0.43%.
