Lisbon, May 11, 2025 (Lusa) - Constraints at Lisbon Airport border posts caused queues at arrivals on Sunday, a PSP source confirmed to Lusa, adding that normal traffic flow has now been restored.
At around 12:15 p.m., there were "constraints at border posts due to a temporary malfunction at the e-gates, which led to crowds gathering at the site," said an official PSP source in response to Lusa.
This equipment allows for electronic passport control.
An official source from ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal said that waiting times were longer than usual for non-Schengen flights due to "technical intervention in the computer systems".
According to the PSP, some gates were subsequently reactivated, allowing "the normal flow of people waiting there".
The PSP did not report any incidents.
