The number of visitors to museums in Greece increased by 3.8 percent in March 2025, relative to the same month in 2024, while free admission visitors rose by 29.3 percent and receipts increased 126.6 percent (due to the change of the pricing policy), according to the Independent Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) report issued on Tuesday.
As regards archaeological sites, in March 2025 compared with the corresponding month of 2024, there was an increase of 3.3% in the number of visitors, of 1.3 % in the number of free admission visitors and an increase of 33.1% in receipts.
During the period from January to March 2025, the number of museum visitors increased 4.1 percent, a 12.9 percent increase in the number of free admission visitors and 59.3 percent increase in receipts compared with the same period in 2024.
For archaeological sites in the same period, the number of visitors increased by 3.4 percent, free admission visitors dropped by 1.1 percent and receipts increased by 23.1 percent in comparision with the same period in 2024
