Lisbon, May 8, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI index gaining 0.04% to end the day's trading at 7,024.31 points, which is in line with most major European markets.
Of the 15 companies listed on the PSI, five rose, nine fell and NOS remained unchanged at €3.61.
Jerónimo Martins led the gains, rising 5.81% to €22.58.
Corticeira Amorim followed, growing 2.36% to €7.80.
With gains of less than 1% were BCP (€0.60), EDP Renováveis (€8.10) and Galp (€13.74).
At the opposite end of the scale, EDP led the declines, falling 3.27% to €3.19.
Among the main falls were REN, which fell 2.58% to €2.84, Semapa, which fell 1.59% to €17.22, Ibersol, which fell 1.50% to €9.22, and Sonae SGPS, which fell 1.39% to €1.13.
After closing, REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais announced profits of €14.4 million in the first quarter, an increase of €10.7 million compared to the same period last year, impacted by higher financial results and positive tax effects.
Declines of less than 1% were seen in CTT (€7.72), Mota-Engil (€3.91), Altri (€6.16) and Navigator (€3.36).
CTT also released its first quarter results, with profits falling 25.9% to €5.5 million.
IntherestofEurope, Frankfurt rose 1.02%, Paris 0.89%, and Madrid 0.06%, while London fell 0.32%.
