ATA - Rozafa Castle attracts more than 28,000 visitors in September

TIRANA, Oct 1 /ATA/ Rozafa Castle remains one of Shkodra’s major tourist attractions, with visitor numbers rising again in September.

Figures from the Shkodër Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage show that 28,731 people visited the castle during the month, a 10% increase compared with September last year.

Set on a rocky hill overlooking the entrance to Shkodër, Rozafa Castle is among Albania’s most prominent cultural heritage sites. The castle’s vantage point offers panoramic views of the city, Lake Shkodër, the Buna River and parts of the Albanian Alps.

The increase in September visitor numbers comes as Shkodër further strengthens its position as a key tourist destination, bringing together its cultural heritage, natural beauty, gastronomy and a variety of activities across the city and surrounding areas.

The castle is also part of a wider tourism offer linking Shkodër’s historic centre with attractions across the region, including Lake Shkodër, the Buna River, museums and religious sites.
