Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark 0.1% higher, lagging behind Europe

Lisbon, April 23, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI index rising 0.10% to 6,836.79 points, lagging behind the bigger rises seen on European markets.

Of the 15 listed companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Market Index), nine rose, five fell and CTT remained unchanged at €7.25.

Leading the risers was BCP, which rose 3.80% to €0.56.

Among the main gainers were NOS, which added 1.61% to €3.78 and Ibersol, which totalled 1.56% more to €9.14.

With rises of less than 1% were Mota-Engil (€3.33), Corticeira Amorim (€7.42), EDP Renováveis (€7.89), Sonae SGPS (€1.06), Semapa (€16.14) and Galp (€13.56).

In the opposite direction, leading the declines was Jerónimo Martins, which fell 2.28% to €21.40.

Also noteworthy were Altri, down 1.29% to €6.22, EDP, down 1.05% to €3.29 and REN, down 1.04% to €2.86.

Navigator (€3.27) fell by less than 1%.

In the rest of Europe, the main benchmark indexes rose 3.14% in Frankfurt, 2.13% in Paris, 1.52% in Madrid and 0.90% in London.
