Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with benchmark down 0.9%, Teixeira Duarte plunging

Lisbon, Dec. 10, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed on Wednesday down 0.89% to 8,018.62 points, on a day of uncertainty in Europe, with civil construction group Teixeira Duarte falling 6.02% and Galp accumulating further losses.

Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 12 fell and four rose.

Leading the declines was Teixeira Duarte, which closed at €0.62, followed by Galp, which fell again today, by 2.40%, to €14.44. The oil company fell more than 14% on Tuesday after announcing a partnership with TotalEnergies to exchange 40% in the PEL 83 area in Namibia for two others operated by the French multinational, which will take over the operation of this licence.

Mota-Engil was the third biggest loser, falling 2.22% to €4.58.

Also below the waterline were EDP Renováveis (-1.93% to €11.69), Altri (-1.37% to €4.31), EDP (-1.20% to €3.78), Ibersol (-0.99% to €10), Navigator (-0.86% to €3.01), BCP (-0.81% to €0.86), Jerónimo Martins (-0.80% to €19.86), NOS (-0.80% to €3.73) and Corticeira Amorim (-0.47% to €6.40).

In the opposite direction, leading the gains were CTT, which rose 2.06% to €7.44, followed by Sonae (+0.88% to €1.60), Semapa (+0.48% to €16.88) and REN (+0.31% to €3.28).

The main European markets closed indecisively today, with London and Madrid advancing 0.14% and 0.17% respectively. Paris, Frankfurt and Milan fell in today's session, 0.37%, 0.13% and 0.25% respectively.
