ATA - Tax revenues increase by 13.8% compared to last March

TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ The General Directorate of Taxes announced that tax revenues continued their upward trend during March 2026, reflecting improvements in tax administration and the impact of measures taken to formalize the economy.

According to official data, total revenues for March amounted to 44.12 billion lek, recording a positive performance both against the planned target and in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

Specifically, revenues exceeded the projected plan by 1.1 billion lek, or 2.4%, while compared to March 2025 they increased by 13.8%, equivalent to 5.5 billion lek.

The Tax Administration assesses that this performance is attributable to the strengthening of controls, the increased awareness of taxpayers, and the implementation of measures against informality, all of which have directly contributed to the growth of budget revenues.

Moreover, this positive trend reaffirms the stability of revenue collection and the consolidation of fiscal administration reforms, thereby creating greater fiscal space for the financing of public services and for investments in the economy.
