Lisbon, Dec. 10, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market continued to fall on Wednesday, maintaining the opening trend, with 12 of the 14 stocks opening lower.

At 09:05 in Lisbon, the PSI was down 0.51% to 8,048.91 points, with 12 stocks losing ground and two rising.

Semapa and Ibersol remained unchanged from the opening, trading at €16.80 and €10.10 per share, respectively.

The biggest losses were recorded by construction companies Teixeira Duarte and Mota-Engil, which fell 3.61% and 2.35% to €0.64 and €4.57, respectively.

Also in the red were Altri (-1.83% to €4.29), BCP (-1.46% to €0.85), Navigator (-1.19% to €3.00) and Jerónimo Martins (-1.05% to €19.81).

Galp was the other listed company to record a rise of around 0.03% to €14.80, mitigating the 14.68% fall the previous day.

The oil company's tumble on Tuesday came after the announcement that it was swapping half of its stake in the Mopane project in Namibia with TotalEnergies for 10% and 9.4% stakes in two other French projects in the country, which was also chosen to operate this licence.

Half an hour after the opening, the main European stock markets were down, with all eyes on the US Federal Reserve (Fed) meeting, which ends today and is expected to result in a third consecutive interest rate cut.

As with previous decisions, this will be based on macroeconomic data released, particularly that relating to price behaviour and the labour market.

Among the main European stock markets, declines were widespread, except in London, which advanced 0.21%.

Milan (-0.45%), Paris (-0.25%), Frankfurt (-0.14%) and Madrid (-0.07%) were down from the opening.

As for commodities, an ounce of gold was trading at $4,232.4 and a barrel of Brent crude, the benchmark for Europe, was up 0.10% to $62.01.
