Lisbon, Nov. 23, 2025 (Lusa) - More than 200 people marched in Lisbon on Sunday calling for an end to fossil fuels by 2030.

The demonstration, organised by a collective that includes Greve Climática Estudantil (Student Climate Strike) and Climáximo, comes after a week of student protests calling for an end to fossil fuels, during which students closed schools.

"I don't know, but I've heard that the planet is burning. There are measures to be taken and the government is playing games," chanted the protesters on the march that left Largo Camões and continued to the parliament.

The protesters also shouted that "without a future there is no peace".

The march, entitled "Our Future Is Not for Sale - End Fossil Fuels 2030", also featured speeches by teachers and doctors.
