Lisbon, Nov. 19, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market fell again on Wednesday, by 0.57%, to 8,072.95 points, affected by Mota-Engil, which fell 7.34%, and following the trend of most major European markets.
Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 10 fell and six rose.
Mota-Engil was the company that fell the most, closing at €5.11, followed by fellow civil engineer and construction group, Teixeira Duarte, which fell 2.86% to €0.68.
Mota-Engil announced on Tuesday that it had achieved group attributable profits of €92 million in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 20% year-on-year.
Galp (-1.52% to €17.79), EDP (-1.42% to €3.74), REN (-1.34% to €3.31) and Altri (-1.32% to €4.49) closed down more than 1%.
Also in negative territory were EDP Renováveis, which fell 0.97% to €11.28, Ibersol, down 0.48% to €10.4, Semapa, which fell by 0.47% to €17.12, and CTT, which fell by 0.28% to €7.08.
The gains were led by the retailers Sonae, which rose 1.55% to €1.44, followed by Jerónimo Martins, which grew 1.13% to €21.54.
Corticeira Amorim (+0.93% to €6.51), NOS (+0.82% to €3.69), Navigator (+0.20% to €2.98) and BCP (+0.13% to €0.79) also closed in positive territory.
The main European markets closed mostly down today, with the exception of Madrid, which advanced 0.39%. London fell 0.47%, Paris 0.18%, Frankfurt 0.08% and Milan 0.44%.
