Lusa - Business News - Macau: Melco profits up 33% in Q3 to €160M

Macau, China, Nov. 6, 2025 (Lusa) - Macau gambling operator Melco Resorts and Entertainment announced on Thursday operating profits of $184.5 million (€160 million) in the third quarter of the year, an increase of 33% year-on-year.

In the same period in 2024, Melco, with three casinos in the territory, recorded profits of $138.6 million (€120.1 million), the company said in a statement.

The group's operating revenues between July and September were $1.31 billion (€1.13 billion), up around 11% compared to the third quarter of last year, when it recorded $1.18 billion (€1.02 billion), said the company owned by Lawrence Ho, son of gambling magnate Stanley Ho (1921-2020).

‘The increase in total operating revenues was mainly due to improved performance in both general gaming and non-gaming operations,’ the statement said.

In the first 10 months of the year, Macau's gaming sector had total revenues of 205.4 billion patacas (€22.9 billion), 8% more than in the same period last year, it was announced on Saturday.

The gambling capital of the world, Macau, is the only place in China where casino gambling is legal.

Six concessionaires operate in the territory, MGM, Galaxy, Venetian, Melco, Wynn and SJM, which renewed their concession contract in December 2023 for the next ten years and which came into force on 1 January 2024.
