Sintra, Portugal, Nov. 6, 2025 (Lusa) - On Saturday, the Serra de Sintra will host another stage of the Camélias Classic Rally, an event for classic cars that will travel through the municipalities of Cascais, Sintra, Mafra and Torres Vedras over the weekend.
According to a press release from Sintra Câmara, the Camélias Classic Rally starts on Saturday, "in the Serra de Sintra, with challenging stretches, including the famous Peninha road, Pé da Serra, Largo dos Capuchos and Lagoa Azul", ending next to the National Palace of Sintra, "an imposing setting that marks the conclusion of the first day of the rally".
On Sunday, the rally starts from Terreiro Rainha D. Amélia, next to the National Palace of Sintra, and "heads towards Torres Vedras, where the different routes will decide the winners, leading the drivers to challenge both their driving skills and their knowledge of the beautiful landscapes".
The event will lead to traffic restrictions in Terreiro da Rainha D. Amélia between 9 p.m. and 11.59 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, with no traffic cuts planned during the competition.
The Camélias Classic Rally, organised by the Clube de Motorismo de Setúbal, has become one of the main milestones in the National Historic Regularity Championship, with its outstanding routes crossing the municipalities of Cascais and Torres Vedras.
Consisting of two stages, three sessions and 21 regularity sectors, the race has a total length of around 265 kilometres.
According to Sintra Câmara, which is supporting the initiative, the event "is one of the most emblematic of motor racing in Portugal" and, "in addition to high-level competition", "promotes tourism and culture in the regions where it takes place" and is positioned "as one of the biggest events on the national sporting calendar".
