ANSA - Soccer: Allegri says prefers Milan-Como to be in Italy

Coach calls for decision to be made soon

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri said Thursday that he would prefer his side's Serie A match against Como in February to be played in Italy, rather than Australia.
Serie A has moved the game to Perth, Australia, so that it does not clash with the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics at the San Siro.
    The decision is controversial.
Furthermore, big protests in Spain led the Spanish top flight on Wednesday to announce that it has abandoned plans to have the Villarreal-Barcelona match played in Miami.
"What I say matters relatively little," Allegri told a news conference before Serie A leaders Milan's home match against promoted Pisa on Friday.
"The important thing is that a decision is made as soon as possible.
"If we play in Italy, it's better.
"If we have to go to Perth, we will get organized for it".
Earlier this month UEFA said it had approved the requests for the Milan-Como and Villarreal-Barcelona matches to take place abroad, while stressing that it did so reluctantly and remained opposed to domestic league matches being played in other countries.
