Brussels, Oct. 23, 2025 (Lusa) - MEPs Paulo Nascimento Cabral and Hélder Sousa e Silva (PSD) and André Rodrigues (PS) are part of the European Parliament (EP) Agriculture Committee delegation's mission to Brazil, which begins on Tuesday.

The programme of the visit, according to an EP press release, includes meetings of the 12 MEPs with government officials, namely the Brazilian Minister of Family Farming and Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira.

The MEPs will visit a research centre dedicated to sustainable development, with technology for plant and animal production systems.

The mission's programme, which ends on the 30th, also includes meetings with Brazilian producers of soya, maize, cattle and poultry, visits to organic farms and discussions with representatives of the agricultural sector at the Brazilian Confederation of Agriculture.

Brazil is one of the Mercosur countries, along with Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, with which the EU signed a trade agreement in December that has been 25 years in the making and is now in the process of being ratified.
