Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market accompanies Europe, closes with PSI index down 0.9%

Lisbon, Oct. 17, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Friday, with the PSI index falling 0.90% to 8,266.08 points, breaking a series of four consecutive days of gains, in line with the main European markets.

Of the 16 companies listed on the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), nine fell, five rose and two, Sonae and Ibersol, remained unchanged at €1.38 and €10.1, respectively.

Teixeira Duarte led the declines, after posting increases in recent sessions, falling 6.17% to €0.73.

Also noteworthy was BCP, which fell 2.94% to €0.74, followed by EDP Renováveis, which lost 2.53% to €13.47, and Jerónimo Martins, which fell 1.64% to €20.40.

On the gains side, the parent company EDP stood out, adding 0.75% to €4.43, as did REN, which gained 0.65% to €3.11, and Galp Energia, which rose 0.53% to €15.99.

Elsewhere in Europe, the day was also one of losses: Paris fell 0.18%, London 0.86%, Frankfurt 1.82% and Madrid 0.29%.
