Luanda,Oct 8, 2025 (Lusa) - The Sovereign Fund of Angola (FSDA) announced on Wednesday that the country has exported more than 100 boxes of fertilised eggs produced in Angola to Uganda for the first time, considering it a "historic milestone" in the expansion of Angolan agribusiness.
The export of 108 boxes, corresponding to 38,880 fertilised eggs, was made through the company Lottie Sociedade Avícola, which specialises in poultry production, and which is part of the FSDA portfolio through its subsidiary Makunde, responsible for managing agro-industrial and impact assets.
In a statement, the FSDA, without providing details of the amount raised, said that the operation, which has already been paid for and finalised, constitutes "a historic milestone" in the country's agricultural and export development, demonstrating the country's growing capacity to produce and export certified agricultural goods.
For the next shipment, the company has more than 140 boxes prepared, totalling around 52,000 eggs, "which demonstrates the continuity and sustainability of production", and has already received new orders from Zimbabwe, the note states.
According to the chairman of the FSDA's board of directors, Armando Manuel, quoted in the statement, the export of fertilised eggs to Uganda "is proof that Angolan agribusiness is ready to compete at the regional level".
"The interest from other African countries confirms the quality of the national product and the impact of the investment made to create a robust and sustainable poultry value chain in the country and the region," he emphasised.
The FDSA also believes that the event reinforces the results of its alternative investment strategy, centred on high-impact sectors capable of boosting national production, import substitution and export diversification in the fields of agriculture and food safety, health, the pharmaceutical industry and infrastructure.
