Lisbon, Sept. 18, 2025 (Lusa) - Businessman António Mota has transferred 28% of the family holding company to his four children, following his departure from the Board of Directors, the market was informed on Thursday.
In a statement sent to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) by Mota-Engil, the construction company said that Mota - Gestão e Participações (MGP), its largest shareholder, had undergone changes to its structure.
"António Manuel Queirós Vasconcelos da Mota donated (over the counter) to his children, 1,789,780 MGP shares (447,445 shares each), representing 28% of its share capital," the document said.
These shares were divided among the children Manuel António, Maria Sílvia, Maria Inês and Maria Luísa.
Mota-Engil also said that at the general meeting of MGP's shareholders held this month, António Mota ceased to serve on the Board of Directors and was replaced by Manuel António, "and the shares held by the latter in Mota-Engil, S.G.P.S, S.A. are now attributable to MGP".
After these changes, “123,684,553 shares representing the share capital of Mota-Engil, SGPS, S.A., corresponding to 40.32% of its share capital, are attributable to MGP”, the company said.
