Lisbon, Sept. 15, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Monday, with the PSI index rising 0.24% to 7,766.91 points, on a day when Mota-Engil gained 1.59%.
Of the 15 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), nine rose, five fell and one, REN, remained unchanged at €2.97.
Leading the gains was Mota-Engil, which rose 1.59% to €5.13, followed by Semapa, which advanced 1.46% to €18.10, and Altri, which gained 1.02% to €4.95.
Among the heavyweights in the index, EDP Renováveis also stood out, rising 0.51% to €9.89, while its parent company EDP advanced 0.47% to €3.86, the same enhancement as BCP, which is now trading at €0.72.
On the other hand, among the fallers were Jerónimo Martins, which fell 0.37% to €21.58, Galp Energia, which lost 0.16% to €16.04, and Navigator, which fell 0.06% to €3.26.
Elsewhere in Europe, the day was mostly one of gains, despite Fitch's downgrade of France's debt rating, at a time when investors are awaiting the Federal Reserve meeting and no other relevant economic data has been published.
Paris advanced 0.92%, Madrid 0.57% and Frankfurt 0.21%, while London fell 0.07%.
