Highlighting the new directions and questions shaping today’s global art landscape is at the heart of Art Athina 2025, which will take place at the Zappeion Megaron from September 18 to 22, 2025. The largest annual visual arts gathering in Greece - and one of the longest-running art fairs in Europe - is organised by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association.
Art Athina will present a representative snapshot of contemporary artistic production, with the participation of 72 galleries from Greece and abroad, showcasing works ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and digital art, according to the official press release.
As every year, beyond the central gallery exhibitions, Art Athina is enriched with a multifaceted parallel program that engages with the present of art. It includes design, special projects, performances, and public discussions with international figures. The fair is thus highlighted not only as an exhibition event but also as a living space of experimentation, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
With a focus on documenting new trends and fostering constructive dialogue, the public is invited to explore the galleries’ proposals and connect with the international directions shaping the contemporary scene - reaffirming Art Athina’s pivotal role as a platform for studying, experiencing, and showcasing contemporary art. The fair is under the general direction of Antonis Kourkoulos for the third consecutive year.
