Lisbon, June 6, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on the last trading day of the week, with the PSI index gaining 0.44% to 7,454.01 points, with Galp standing out, advancing more than 4%.
Of the 15 companies listed on the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), seven rose, six fell and Ibersol and REN remained unchanged at €9.90 and €2.98, respectively.
Galp led the gains, rising 4.33% to €15.30 primarily on the back of rising crude prices.
Also noteworthy were EDP Renováveis, which rose 1.78% to €9.16, and Corticeira Amorim, which rose 1.27% to €7.96.
Gains of less than 1% were recorded by Altri (€5.28), CTT (€7.58), NOS (€3.89) and Semapa (€17.60).
At the other end of the scale, Mota-Engil led the declines, falling 1.48% to €4.40.
With declines of less than 1% were Sonae SGPS (€1.22), Jerónimo Martins (€21.44), EDP (€3.52), Navigator (€3.40) and BCP (€0.67).
In the rest of Europe, London and Madrid rose 0.31% and Paris 0.19%, while Frankfurt fell 0.08% led down by profit taking in defence giant Rheinmetall and weakness in the automotive sector.
