Lusa - Business News - Portugal: EDP signs €200M put option with Amundi for wind portfoloio

Lisbon, May 15, 2025 (Lusa) - Energias de Portugal (EDP) has signed a put option agreement with Amundi Transition Energétique for a portfolio of wind farms in France and Belgium, valued at €200 million, the group announced to the market. 

The deal, which is part of the company's asset rotation strategy, includes 12 wind projects totalling 121 megawatts (MW), 11 of which are located in France, EDP Renováveis, the company's separately quoted renewables arm, said in a statement issued on Thursday via Portugal's Securities Markets Commission (CMVM).

The company expects the deal to be finalised this year.

"Following the conclusion of the information consultation of the EDP Renováveis France Holding Workers‘ Committee and the fulfilment of the conditions precedent established in the agreement, the financial closing is expected to take place in 2025," reads the document.

EDP Renováveis also recalls that it has already signed agreements for two other asset rotation deals expected to be finalised this year, one in the US and the other in Spain, expecting to raise €250 million.
