Spanish Broadcasting Corporation RTVE and the Spanish News Agency EFE to jointly create documentaries, discussion forums and products for Latin America

The president of RTVE, José Pablo López, -the Spanish Broadcasting Corporation (spanish public radio and television service)-, has announced that in the coming weeks he will sign an agreement with the Spanish News Agency EFE to create debate and current affairs forums, as well as the production of documentary content.
In his first appearance in Parliament before the RTVE parliamentary control committee, López advanced his plans to collaborate with ‘public operators’.
In this regard, he indicated that he wants to do so ‘hand in hand with the world's leading Spanish-language agency, which is the EFE Agency’, which is why, following the signing of an agreement, in the coming weeks they will present ‘two important initiatives’.
According to López, RTVE and EFE will create a regular debate and current affairs forums, in which journalists from both companies will take part and which may be held in Madrid and Barcelona.
They will also collaborate in the production of documentary content, which may be marketed to third parties or broadcast on the different channels and platforms of the public broadcaster.
"We want our collaboration to go further and explore new avenues, such as the launch of specific news products for Latin America", added the president of RTVE, reporting on recent conversations held with the president of Agencia EFE, Miguel Ángel Oliver, with this aim in mind. In López's opinion, the Spanish state owned public sector, with EFE at the forefront, can build to strengthen RTVE's presence in Latin America and to offer specific products.
