Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with PSI index up 0.36% led by Mota-Engil

Lisbon, March 12, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI index advancing 0.36% to 6,763.06 points and following the rises of the main European stock markets.

Of the 15 shares that are included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Market Index), nine ended higher and six lower.

Mota-Engil led the risers and added 4.31% to €3.20, while NOS had the biggest drop and fell 2.80% to €4.34.

Among the biggest risers were BCP, which rose 3.60% to €0.54 and Ibersol, which gained 3.20% to €9.04.

Altri rose 1.08% to €6.09, Sonae 0.99% to €1.02, Galp 0.89% to €14.73 and REN 0.56% to €2.67.

Corticeira Amorim ( €8.19) and CTT ( €6.95) ended with increases of less than 0.25%.

In the opposite direction, EDP fell 2.68 % to €3.09, EDP Renováveis 2.25% to €8.47 and Jerónimo Martins 1.28 % to €20.

Still in the red, but with losses of less than 1%, were Navigator at €3.19 and Semapa at €15.09.

The Milan and Frankfurt stock markets stood out for their gains in Europe, with rises of 1.61% and 1.56% respectively. Paris rose by 0.59% and London by 0.53%, but the Madrid stock market fell by 0.57%, penalised by the 7.50% drop in Inditex, owner of brands such as Zara, after presenting its results.
