Lisbon, Feb. 28, 2025 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Friday, for the second consecutive session, pressured by a fall of almost 5% in BCP, with the PSI index down 0.64% to 6,800.10 points.
Of the 15 listed companies that are included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), six rose and nine fell, with BCP leading the declines, falling 4.89 % to €0.54. The bank presented results on Wednesday, with record profits of €906.4 million in 2024.
On the upside, EDP Renováveis advanced 3.19% to €8.59, after falling 11.91% in the previous session.
Sonae also stood out among the risers and recorded an enhancement of 3.15% to €1.01, EDP and Jerónimo Martins recorded gains of 1.57% and stood at €3.11 and €20.76, respectively.
Ibersol advanced 0.95% to €8.54 and Galp added 0.57% to €15.90.
On the downside, REN dropped 2.40% to €2.44, Semapa fell 2.21% to €15.04, Mota-Engil dropped 1.58% to €2.99 and CTT fell 1.14% to €6.96.
Navigator ( €3.26), NOS (€4.27), Corticeira Amorim (€8.20) and Altri (€6.06) ended with falls of less than 0.50%.
On the main European stock markets, London rose by 0.61%, Madrid by 0.58%, Paris by 0.11% and Milan by 0.08%, while Frankfurt closed stable after being in negative territory for practically the entire session.
