Lisbo, Jan. 6, 2025 (Lusa) - EuroAtlantic Airways announced a partnership on Monday with Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras to operate a route between São Paulo and Lisbon, which began operating on 19 December last year.
"euroAtlantic Airways (EAA), part of the Njord Partners portfolio, is pleased to announce a new agreement with Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras in response to the significant increase in demand for flights between Brazil and Portugal; this strategic partnership will provide additional direct flights connecting São Paulo (Viracopos Airport) to Lisbon (Humberto Delgado Airport), starting operations on 19 December 2024," according to the statement sent to Lusa today.
In the text, EAA explains that "the first aircraft is already in operation, and there is potential to add another aircraft in 2025", but no information is given on the frequency of flights.
"We are delighted to establish this strategic partnership with Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras, strengthening ties between Brazil and Portugal," said EAA's executive director and president, Stewart Higginson, quoted in the statement.
EuroAtlantic Airways is a Portuguese company that specialises in aircraft leasing solutions and owns several aircraft. Based in Carnaxide, Lisbon, with a base at the capital's airport, the company has served 179 airports in 176 countries over the last 30 years of operations, the statement added.
