Lisbon, Oct. 2, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed down on Friday by 0.63% to 9,416.78 points, bucking the trend on the main European markets, with Jerónimo Martins falling by 3.86%.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 12 fell and four rose.
Jerónimo Martins was the biggest faller in today's session, closing at €16.94, followed by Semapa, which lost 2.31% to €19.44, and Teixeira Duarte, which fell by 2.14% to €0.48.
Sonae fell by 1.69% to €2.04, one day after the announcement of changes to the group's leadership, with the company's Board of Directors proposing Cláudia Azevedo as the next Chair and João Dolores as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Also falling by more than 1% were CTT (down 1.67% to €5.89), Galp (down 1.14% to €21.72), Mota-Engil (down 1.08% to €5.03) and Corticeira Amorim, which fell by 1% to €6.92.
Navigator (down 0.75% to €3.17), Altri (down 0.65% to €4.60), Ibersol (down 0.41% to €9.72) and REN (down 0.28% to €3.54) closed with more modest falls.
Leading the gains was EDP Renewables, which rose by 1.59% to €12.77, followed by NOS, which rose by 0.66% to €5.37, BCP, which gained 0.22% to €1.16, and EDP, which rose by 0.04%, to €4.80.
The major European stock markets closed higher today, with London up 0.32%, Paris 0.79%, Frankfurt 1.17%, Madrid 0.42% and Milan 0.49%.
