Lisbon, Sept. 29, 2026 (Lusa) - Portugal has submitted its tenth and final payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) to the European Commission, amounting to €4.672 billion, the Ministry of Economy and Territorial Cohesion announced on Tuesday.

According to the ministry's statement, the European Commission's approval of the 10th payment request will enable Portugal to receive €4.672 billion (net of advance payments), bringing the total RRP allocation to Portugal to €21.905 billion.

«We have fully completed all the milestones and targets of the RRP. There are thousands of projects that have been successful and of which we are proud,» said the Minister for the Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, in a statement.

This latest RRP payment request covers milestones and targets linked to 92 investments and 4 reforms.

With the submission of the final 96 milestones and targets relating to the 10th payment request, the ministry reports that Portugal has met «all 379 milestones and targets set out in the RRP, thereby fully fulfilling the commitments made under the Plan».

«The RRP was the largest investment programme ever undertaken by the Portuguese government. It has improved the lives of millions of Portuguese people,» the minister stated in the press release.
