Lisbon, Sept. 25, 2026 (Lusa) - Portugal's stock market closed higher on Friday, with the PSI up 0.21% to 9,704.60 points, led by BCP, while Galp Energia and construction firms Teixeira Duarte and Mota-Engil capped further gains.

Of the 16 listed companies in the national benchmark index, seven ended the week's final session with gains, eight posted more modest results, and Navigator ended unchanged at €3.25.

Shares in BCP and the EDP group's listed companies underpinned the national benchmark index's performance.

Shares in the bank, led by Miguel Maya, rose 1.77% to €1.21. Within the EDP group, the ‘parent company' gained 0.94% to €4.84, whilst the subsidiary EDP Renováveis rose by 0.70% to €12.99.

Elsewhere in the energy sector, REN rose by 1.13% to €3.57.

NOS also ended the session higher, up 0.65% to €5.45, as did Sonae SGPS, up 0.48% to €2.11, and Jerónimo Martins, up 0.22% to €17.89.

At the other end of the scale, Galp Energia led the fallers, dropping 2.93% to €22.50.

Two construction firms recorded losses of more than 2%: Teixeira Duarte fell 2.11% to €0.49, whilst Mota-Engil slipped 2.04% to €5.28.

Meanwhile, CTT fell 0.71% to €6.26, Corticeira Amorim dropped 0.28% to €7.07 and Semapa fell 0.24% to €20.75.

Finally, Ibersol fell by 0.20% to €10 per share, and Altri dropped by 0.11% to €4.74.

In other major European markets, Spain's IBEX-35 rose 0.65%, Germany's DAX gained 0.56%, and the UK's FTSE 100 rose 0.14%, while France's CAC-40 fell 0.04%.
