Lisbon, Sept. 1, 2026 (Lusa) - Portuguese drone manufacturer, Tekever announced on Tuesday the acquisition of the British company Flowcopter, which specialises in hydraulic transmission technology for aerospace propulsion, to strengthen the company's capabilities in unmanned aerial systems and develop platforms with greater range and payload capacity.
In a statement, the company explained that the acquisition enables Tekever to integrate Flowcopter's technology, which is expected to be included in areas such as logistics, search and rescue, and disaster response, amongst others.
Flowcopter, based in Edinburgh (UK), was already collaborating with Tekever on the development of the AR6 systems, a platform that incorporates the British company's hydraulic transmission technology and is capable of carrying at least 200 kilograms over a distance of more than 500 kilometres.
The deal is included in the Overmatch programme, a long-term investment plan by Tekever worth £400 million, aimed at expanding autonomous capabilities in the UK.
When questioned by Lusa, the company did not disclose the value of the deal.
