Lisbon, July 24, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market was trading steadily on Friday, with Altri up 1.93% at €4.75 and NOS down 2.93% at €4.77.
At around 9:20 a.m. in Lisbon, the PSI was up 0.01% to 9,253.36 points, with 11 companies rising and five companies going down.
Altri's shares were followed by those of BCP, CTT and Navigator, which rose by 1.47% to €1.07, 1.18% to €5.99 and 0.83% to €3.16, respectively.
REN, Ibersol and Semapa also rose, by 0.81% to €3.74, 0.76% to €9.34 and 0.49% to €20.35.
Jerónimo Martins and Corticeira Amorim rose by 0.42% to €16.88 and 0.31% to €6.42, whilst the other two companies to rise were Mota-Engil (0.17% to €4.64) and Teixeira Duarte (0.10% to €0.48).
On the other hand, in addition to NOS, Galp, EDP Renováveis and EDP fell by 1.43% to 20.66 euros, 0.50% to 14.06 euros and 0.48% to 4.60 euros, respectively.
Sonae fell by 0.24% to €2.04.
Across Europe, the main stock exchanges opened higher today, keeping a close eye on developments in the conflict in Iran, where tensions on Thursday triggered further rises in oil prices, with a barrel reaching $100.
The euro has strengthened by 0.18% against the dollar and is trading at $1.1400 on the Frankfurt foreign exchange market.
In this trading session, investors are keeping a close eye on oil price movements following the thirteenth consecutive night of US strikes against Iran.
The price of the benchmark Brent crude oil contract in Europe has fallen by 1.85% to $98.83.
In New York, the Dow Jones and the Nasdaq closed down 0.97% and 2.15% respectively on Thursday, whilst futures are up 0.35% for the former and 0.96% for the latter.
During this session, investors will be watching for the release by S&P Global of the preliminary July readings for the leading activity indices, the manufacturing and services PMIs for the eurozone, Germany, France, the UK and the US, as this comes after the ECB decided to keep its three key interest rates unchanged on Thursday, with expectations growing for a 25-basis-point rise at the bank's next meeting in early September.
