AC Milan have announced that 40-year-old Croatia great -Luka Modrić will remain with them next season, after signing a new contract running until the end of June 2027.
    The Ballon d'Or-winning midfielder joined the seven-time European champions a year ago, after 13 glorious years with Real Madrid.
    He will be working with new coach Ruben Amorim, who has replaced Massimiliano Allegri after Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League under him last term.
    "A key figure in the Rossoneri midfield since his arrival, Luka has brought his experience and quality to the service of the team, both on and off the pitch, with humility and great passion," Milan said.
    "One of the finest and most iconic players in world football, the Croatian will continue his journey in the Rossoneri shirt - with which he made 37 appearances and scored 2 goals last season - with the ambition to reach new, important milestones.
    "Luka Modrić will continue to wear the number 14 shirt for AC Milan".
