APS - President Tebboune: Housing sector becomes "pride of Algeria"

ALGIERS - President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday praised the achievements of the housing sector, which has become "the pride of Algeria," highlighting the progress achieved in the field "thanks to the efforts of men loyal to the legacy of the righteous martyrs."

In his speech during the inauguration of the "Late Mujahid Ahmed Taleb Ibrahimi" urban center in the new city of Sidi Abdellah in Rahmania, western Algiers, the President of the Republic said that "the housing sector has become the pride of Algeria."

He pointed out that the average age at which an Algerian citizen now acquires housing ranges between 30 and 31 years, which is considered "highly acceptable."

President Tebboune commended the citizens' level of trust in the institutions responsible for building these homes. He tasked the Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, Tarek Belaribi, with conveying his "sincere greetings" to all workers in the housing and urban planning sector, urging them to "continue these major victories that Algeria is achieving in silence."

On the same occasion, the President of the Republic highlighted the achievements witnessed in various fields, which he hailed as "heartwarming."

"Praise be to Allah for the level the country has reached, thanks to the efforts of men loyal to the trust of the righteous martyrs," he said.

The President of the Republic stressed that "our country's strengths lie in the fact that most state expenditures are directed toward achieving social balance in the fields of health, housing, and education. These are all interconnected files that progress together until we reach the desired goal."

This approach has allowed Algeria to become "among the economically and socially developed and advanced countries," as evidenced by the rankings of relevant international organizations, which have placed it in the ranks of developed countries.

For example, "the state has worked to combat drought and thirst by relying on Algerian expertise, means, and funds." He added that "efforts are underway to achieve self-sufficiency in supplying citizens with water through seawater desalination plants, currently at 40 percent, and we will reach 62 percent upon the completion of the remaining projects."

He pointed here to the officials who remain loyal to the sacrifices of the righteous martyrs, striving with all their might and by mobilizing all available resources to meet the citizens' needs in health, housing, education, and drinking water supply.

The President of the Republic emphasized that choosing Independence and National Sovereignty Recovery Day as the occasion to distribute housing to beneficiaries aims to make this date "an enduring memory in the minds of Algeria's children."

He further hailed the awareness of the nation's youth and their high patriotic spirit.
