Lisbon, July 6, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed lower on Monday, with the PSI falling by 1.19% to 9,217.31 points, in line with most European markets, on a day when EDP fell by 2.30%.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI national benchmark index, only BCP ended the session in the black, rising 0.47% to €1.08.
Leading the PSI’s losses was Teixeira Duarte, which fell 2.39% to €0.53, followed by Corticeira Amorim, which fell 2.31% to €6.35.
Among the ‘heavyweights’ of the index, EDP fell by 2.30% to €4.58, whilst its subsidiary EDP Renewables lost 0.56% to €18.84.
Jerónimo Martins fell by 1.57% to €16.34, whilst Galp Energia fell by 0.66% to €18.84.
Two listed companies linked to the pulp and paper sector also recorded losses of around 2%: Semapa fell by 2.16% to €20.35 and Navigator retreated by 2% to €3.24, as did the telecommunications company Nos, which lost 2.04% to €4.95.
Meanwhile, CTT fell by 1.98% to €5.98, Altri fell by 1.87% to €4.73 and Mota-Engil fell by 1.78% to €4.73.
Also posting losses of more than 1% were Ibersol, which fell by 1.63% to €9.64, and Sonae SGPS, which lost 1.65% to €2.09.
On the other major European markets, Spain’s IBEX-35 lost 0.85%, France’s CAC-40 fell by 0.33% and the UK’s FTSE 100 dropped by 0.26%. Meanwhile, Germany’s DAX rose by 0.15%.
