Maputo, May 15, 2026 (Lusa) - Mozambique is set to present business projects in agriculture, mining, and technical expertise for industrial development at the upcoming India-Africa Business Forum, the president of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) announced on Friday.
“We are taking what we produce, and our potential, particularly in mining and agriculture, to showcase to our Indian partners."
"There are a number of activities here that we can develop in partnership with our Indian colleagues, and we are focusing on production and industry,” Álvaro Massinga said.
He was speaking in Maputo following a meeting with an Indian delegation aimed at preparing the Mozambican private sector for the 4th India-Africa Business Forum, which will take place in New Delhi (India) from 29 to 31 May.
He said that Mozambican entrepreneurs were also seeking Indian technical knowledge and experience to help develop various domestic industries in the country, and that the discussions would cover partnerships aimed at securing economic growth and improving well-being in both countries.
Expressing his desire to ensure a significant presence for Mozambique at the forum, he said that the country had secured several cooperation and investment agreements from previous editions, and urged local businesses to pay close attention to the event.
"It is an opportunity for Mozambican companies to showcase their products, and for Indian companies operating here, to return and present the results of their investments in Mozambique," he said.
The High Commissioner of India to Mozambique, Shri Shetkintong, confirmed the attendance of the president of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, at the 4th India-Africa Business Forum, calling for national business community participation in the event.
"There are many business opportunities in Mozambique that entrepreneurs from other countries are unaware of, and this is the best place to showcase them."
"This will be an opportunity for Mozambican entrepreneurs to visit India and see if they can collaborate with their Indian counterparts," he said.
The India-Africa Business Forum was launched in 2008, serving as a platform for dialogue, bringing together the private sector, business leaders, investors, policymakers, financial institutions and industry representatives from India and Africa.
According to CTA information, economic relations between India and Africa have expanded significantly over the past five years, with investment from India amounting to around $80 billion (€68 billion) in the telecommunications, energy, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, mining, manufacturing and services sectors.
