Lisbon, May 11, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Monday, with the PSI (Portugal Stock Index) rising 1.09% to 9,165.76 points and EDP Renovaveis gaining over 5% as European bourses showed no clear trend.
Of the 16 listed companies in the PSI, 14 rose and two fell.
EDP Renováveis led the gains, rising 5.09% to €14.67.
Other notable gainers included EDP, which rose 3.76% to €4.47, Navigator, which increased 1.96% to €3.33, NOS, which gained 1.61% to €5.36, Corticeira Amorim, which rose 1.29% to €7.09 and Mota-Engil, which climbed 1.21% to €4.87.
NOS net profit rose 4.7% in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2025, to €62 million, the company said on Monday.
During the same period, consolidated revenue "reached €460.2 million, a growth of 1.9% with a strong contribution from revenues from the IT and cinema and audiovisual segments," said the group, led by Miguel Almeida.
Companies with gains below 1% on Monday included Semapa (€23.85), REN (€3.63), CTT (€6.34), Teixeira Duarte (€0.43), Altri (€4.99), Ibersol (€11.90), Galp (€19.09) and BCP (€0.93).
Conversely, Sonae SGPS led the losses, falling 2.48% to €1.89, followed by Jeronimo Martins, which lost 1.12% to €18.51.
Elsewhere in Europe, London rose 0.36% and Frankfurt gained 0.05%, while Paris fell 0.69% and Madrid dropped 0.21%.
