ZAGREB, 11 May (Hina) - The annual “Croatia Volunteers” campaign will take place across the country from 21 to 23 May under the slogan “The Strength That Connects”, focusing on sustainable communities, while citizens and organisations can register activities until 20 May through the Volonteka online platform.
The campaign’s 16th edition was announced by the Croatian Volunteer Development Centre and volunteer centres across the country in partnership with the Croatian Red Cross.
This year’s campaign is being held as part of the observance of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development and is aimed at supporting sustainable development goals. Its central theme is “Volunteering for Sustainable Communities”.
Registered activities will be brought together on a national platform and made accessible to the public across Croatia.
The Croatian Volunteer Development Centre says volunteering connects people, removes barriers, strengthens solidarity and helps build more resilient communities, with particular emphasis placed on the role of young volunteers.
In addition to participating through domestic organisations and campaigns, Croatian citizens can also volunteer through the European Solidarity Corps, which enables people aged 18 to 30 to take part in volunteering and projects in Croatia and abroad.
