Lisbon, April 23, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) rising 0.25% to 9,208.77 points, against a largely negative European backdrop.
Of the 16 listed companies included in the PSI, eight rose and eight fell.
Leading the gains was NOS, which rose 2.53% to €5.66.
Other major gainers included EDP, which rose 1.18% to €4.53, and EDP Renováveis, which climbed 1.11% to €13.68.
Rising by less than 1% were REN (€3.75), Corticeira Amorim (€6.60), Altri (€4.91), Jerónimo Martins (€20.70) and Ibersol (€11.80). In the opposite direction, leading the falls was Teixeira Duarte, which dropped 1.88% to €0.42.
Also notable were Mota-Engil, which fell 1.32% to €4.79, and CTT, which fell 1.31% to €6.41.
BCP (€0.88), Sonae SGPS (€1.95), Semapa (€22.65), Navigator (€3.37) and Galp (€19.34) all fell by less than 1%.
Elsewhere in Europe, Madrid fell by 0.67%, London by 0.19% and Frankfurt by 0.16%, while Paris rose 0.87%. PE/MYAL // ADB.
