Lisbon, April 22, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, rising 0.54% to 9,185.60 points, bucking the European trend, driven by gains from EDP, BCP and Galp.
Of the 16 listed companies included in the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), nine rose, six fell and Jerónimo Martins remained unchanged at €20.62.
EDP led the gains, rising 1.54% to €4.48, followed by BCP, which rose 1.18% to €0.89, and Galp, up 1.12% to €19.34.
Also closing in positive territory were EDP Renováveis (up 0.89% to €13.53), Altri (up 0.51% to €4.88), CTT (up 0.46% to €6.49), Semapa (up 0.44% to €22.70), Sonae (up 0.31% to €1.96) and REN (up 0.27% to €3.72).
In the opposite direction, Ibersol was the biggest faller, dropping 2% to €11.76, followed by Mota-Engil, which fell 1.02% to €4.85.
Also closing lower were NOS (down 0.90% to €5.53), Teixeira Duarte (down 0.58% to €0.43), Corticeira Amorim (down 0.30% to €6.56) and Navigator (down 0.12% to €3.37).
The main European markets closed lower on Wednesday, with London down 0.21%, Paris 0.96%, Frankfurt 0.31%, Madrid 0.75% and Milan 0.25%.
