Lisbon, April 8, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) rising 0.89% to 9,450.19 points and Mota-Engil climbing more than 8%, in line with the rest of Europe.
Of the 16 listed companies included in the PSI, 11 rose, four fell and Ibersol remained unchanged at €10.90. Leading the gains was Mota-Engil, which rose 8.31% to €5.03.
Standing out were Teixeira Duarte, up 7.99% to €0.47, CTT, which rose 4.92% to €6.72, BCP, which gained 4.20% to €0.91, Semapa, up 2.93% to €22.85, Corticeira Amorim, which rose 2.45% to €6.68, Navigator, up 2.43% to €3.46, Jerónimo Martins, up 2.34% to €21, Sonae SGPS, up 2.23% to €2.02, and Altri, which rose 1.85% to €4.96.
Only NOS (€5.61) recorded a gain of less than 1%.
In the opposite direction, leading the declines was Galp, which fell 5.21% to €20.02.
REN (€3.84), EDP (€4.68) and EDP Renováveis (€14.06) all fell by less than 1%.
Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt rose by 5.06%, Paris by 4.49%, Madrid by 3.94% and London by 2.51%.
