ORAN - More than 150 domestic and foreign firms are expected to participate in the 8th International Exhibition for Investment in Industry, Construction, Energy, Logistics and Export (Algeria Invest Expo), scheduled for March 26–29 at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Convention Center in Oran (432 km west of Algiers), according to the event’s commissioner, Ahmed Haniche.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, the international exhibition will host around 130 Algerian public and private firms specializing in industry and exports, alongside foreign companies and subsidiaries operating in Algeria, from China, Italy, Turkey, India, and other countries.
Speaking to APS, Haniche emphasized that Algeria Invest Expo will feature a major presence of public industrial groups in the fields of electrical industry, energy, electronics, chemicals, construction, wood products and mining, aims to "foster a proactive dynamic among market players while promoting public subcontracting and investment partnerships by providing a dedicated space for professional exchange."
The event, he added, comes amid an "unprecedented vitality in Algeria’s economic development," coinciding with the launch of major strategic projects in heavy industry and the drive to create economic momentum outside the hydrocarbons sector."
To support young talent, an exhibition area has been dedicated to 30 startups from various universities and project holders with innovative ideas, allowing them to engage with economic stakeholders and explore opportunities to materialize and fund their projects, the source added.
On the sidelines of the event, organized by the Sunflower Communications agency, a series of lectures and panel discussions will be held.
The sessions will cover topics including "Renewable Energies," "Developing the Industrial Fabric through Subcontracting," "Logistics, Exports and Support for Exporters," and "Sustainable Industrial Development and Decarbonization." Other focus areas include "Smart Energy Demand Management," "Win-Win Partnerships," and "Investment Promotion and Export Development."
Algeria Invest Expo will feature a competition for the best participating projects that demonstrate a positive impact on innovation, the environment and sustainable development, as noted by the organizers.
