TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/ – A photographic exhibition featuring images of icons from the collection of the Onufri National Iconographic Museum has opened in the coastal city of Vlora as part of events marking the museum’s 40th anniversary.
The exhibition is hosted at the National Museum of Independence and showcases selected photographs from the collections and spaces of the Berat-based museum.
Through photography, the exhibition presents some of the most representative icons from the museum’s holdings, as well as details of the historic interiors where they are preserved and elements reflecting the rich tradition of Albanian iconography.
Organisers said the choice of venue carries particular significance, noting that the National Museum of Independence is among the most visited museum institutions in Albania, attracting large numbers of both domestic and international visitors throughout the year.
The exhibition aims not only to mark four decades of activity of the Onufri museum, but also to promote its cultural and artistic values in other museum spaces across the country, bringing the public closer to one of the most important treasures of Albanian iconographic art.
