Renè De Silvestro on Tuesday won the silver medal in the combined sitting event at the Alpine Skiing Paralympics taking Italy's medal tally to nine, two more than four years ago in Beijing and heading towards the Lillehammer 1994 record of 13.
    Italy is currently fourth in the medal table with three golds, five silvers and one bronze, behind China on nine, six and eight, Austria on four, one and three; and the USA on three, five and two.

Ukraine is fifth on three golds, two silvers and five bronzes.
    On the slopes of Cortina d'Ampezzo, De Silvtesro, from San Vito di Cadore (Belluno) finished between two Dutchmen, winner Jeroen Kampschreur and third-placed Niels de Langen.
