TIRANA, March 5 /ATA/ The prices of goods imported from abroad saw an average decrease of 0.5% in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the report published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), the most significant price decrease was observed in electricity, gas, and related services, which saw a 4.1% reduction.
Furthermore, prices also declined in services related to water supply and waste management by 0.8%, as well as in extractive industry products, including minerals and raw materials, which recorded a 0.5% decrease.
The manufacturing industry, which accounts for the majority of imported goods (approximately 94%), recorded a slight price decrease of 0.3%.
Within this category, the largest decline was observed in ready-made garments, with a 1.5% reduction, followed by metals with a 1.1% decrease, plastic and rubber products with a 1% drop, textile processing with a 0.9% reduction, and beverages with a 0.8% decline.
On the other hand, the prices of tobacco products increased by 1.3%, furniture by 1.2%, and printing services by 0.8%.
Meanwhile, compared to the third quarter of 2025, the prices of imported goods decreased in several areas, including water supply and waste management by 0.7%, electricity and gas by 0.6%, and the extractive industry by 0.5%.
At the same time, a slight increase of 0.1% was recorded in processed industry products.
Within this category, the most notable price increases were observed in processed food products, which rose by 0.9%, followed by furniture with a 0.6% increase, and electrical equipment with a 0.5% rise.
