Italy's tourism sector enjoyed a bumper year in 2025, with 185 million tourist arrivals, up 7.1% on the 173 million registered in 2024, according to the interior ministry's 'Alloggiati web' platform.
It said the increase regarded both hotels, up 3% to 104,660,524 arrivals in 2025 from 101,629,754 the year before, and non-hotel accommodation, up 13% from 71,395,272 to 80,617,418.
The rise was thanks both to Italian tourists, up 5.1% from 77,317,707 to 81,251,494, and foreign ones, up 8.7% to 104,026,448 from 95,707,319.
