Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes higher with Sonae gaining 3.73%

Lisbon, Jan. 15, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Thursday, climbing 0.40% to 8,601.78 points, with Sonae leading the gains, up 3.73%, on a day of uncertainty in Europe.

Of the 16 companies listed on the PSI index, nine rose, six fell, and Teixeira Duarte remained unchanged at €0.61.

Sonae thus closed the session at €1.73, followed by Jerónimo Martins, which rose 1.98% to €20.58, and Semapa, which gained 1.15% to €22.05.

Mota-Engil (1% to €5.05), EDP (0.95% to €4.14), REN (0.45% to €3.32), NOS (0.35% to €4.26), Corticeira Amorim (0.29% to €6.87) and Ibersol (0.20% to €9.92).

On the other hand, EDP Renováveis led the declines, falling 1.01% to €12.75, followed by Navigator, which fell 0.72% to €3.29.

BCP (0.71% to €0.90), CTT (0.41% to €7.21), Altri (0.33% to €4.57) and Galp (0.19% to €16.13) also closed in negative territory.

The main European markets closed mixed today, with London, Frankfurt and Milan advancing 0.54%, 0.26% and 0.44%, respectively.

Paris and Madrid fell by 0.21% and 0.30%, respectively.
