Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Train tickets to increase by 2.26% next year, passes remain unchanged

Lisbon, Dec. 22, 2025 (Lusa) - Ticket prices for CP trains will increase by an average of 2.26% in 2026, but the cost of passes will remain unchanged, the company announced on Monday.

"From 1 January 2026, new prices will come into effect for all CP services, with an average increase of 2.26%," according to the notice published today.

On the other hand, "the price of the Green Rail Pass and the Navegante and Andante passes will remain unchanged," it added.

The price lists for tickets for the various services, including urban trains, Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Regional and InterRegional, are available on the CP website.

A single ticket on an Alfa Pendular from Lisbon to Porto, for example, will now cost €49.90 in Comfort class and €35.70 in Tourist class.

Passes remain unchanged, with the Green Rail Pass, costing €20 per month, replacing the national rail pass and allowing travel on regional and interregional trains (2nd class), urban trains in Lisbon and Porto (outside the areas covered by metropolitan intermodal passes), urban trains in Coimbra and intercity trains (2nd class, with mandatory advance seat reservation).

The price of the Navegante Metropolitano (valid throughout the Lisbon Metropolitan Area) is €40 per month, the Navegante Metropolitano (valid in one municipality) costs €30, and the Navegante +65, for senior citizens, costs €20.

Regarding the Andante, the public transport system in the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP), the cost of monthly passes is €40 (metropolitan pass) or €30 (municipal or three zones).
